Women Preachers? So who re-Wrote the Bible?

"Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, Because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which called herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed with idols." (Revelations 2:20).
God has never called a woman to preach the Gospel and never will. It matters not who stands for it or justifies it. Let God be true and every man a liar. (Romans 3:4). God said, "I suffer not a woman to teach nor usurp authority over the man but to be in silence." (1 Timothy 2:12). How can a woman be a preacher if she cannot teach me? Jesus said to his preachers (men) to "go ye therefore and teach all nations." (Matthew 28:19). God said for women to be shamefaced, (1 Timothy 2;9). How can she preach then? God said, "Let your women keep silence in the churches." (1 Corinthians 14:34). How can she preach if she is not allowed to set the church in order? God instructed the old women to teach the young women (Titus 2:3-4) and he told the young women to marry and bear children, (1 Timothy 5:14)
Let us go into the scriptures and look at exactly what the True Word of God has to say about this subject, and what the word of God says that is it. First of all the Bible says nothing to support the calling of women to preach as the many hundreds of women and unlearned men are claiming today. No, God never sent a woman to preach, and there is no bible that says he did. There is no bible where women proclaimed the gospel of Jesus Christ, using any one of the five gifts, NO there is not one instance where preaching took place. Instead the bible condemns women trying to preach and having and showing authority over the man. Only women and unlearned weak men believe otherwise.
Now, let us take the scriptures and open this topic up where it can be understood by all those who are willing to accept God's word for its true meaning. The Apostle Paul used one of his epistles to declare, "But though we, or an angle from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received,, let him be accursed." (Galatians 1:8-9). Try and understand that the Apostles forbid us from bringing another gospel that differ from what they preach. And, if they did not allow women to preach in the early days of the church, then, nobody can be justified in allowing them to preach now. Let us go to (Ecclesiastes 7:27-28), "Behold, this have I found,saith the preacher,counting one by one, to find out the account: Which yet my soul seeketh, but I find not: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all these have I not found." Even King Solomon did not find any in his day. The Prophet Isaiah proclaimed, "as for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths. The Prophet Isaiah speaks with a plain message; if a woman leads you, she will cause you to err, and you will be destroyed. Despite what is written in the bible and proclaimed by God's word, unlearned and weak men are busy ordaining women as Deaconess, Pastors, Elders and Bishops, and they standing as head of churches are leading men and other women to destruction. (Isaiah 9:16-17) tells us; "For the leaders, of this people cause them to err, and they that are led of them are destroyed. Therefore, the Lord shall have no joy in thier young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: For everyone is an hypocrite and an evil doer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still." All of those out there following women preachers are less than righteous. Those women preacher who are foolish enough to call themselves BISHOP are wicked in their hearts and are blinded by the devil's deceit. I (Timothy 3:1-2) make it very plain; "This is a true saying (This tells us that anything contrary to this saying is a lie) If a MAN desire the office of a Bishop, HE (NOT SHE) desireth a good work. A Bishop then must be blameless, the HUSBAND of one wife, (It does not say the wife of one husband) vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach." I don't know where on earth they find justification for a woman Bishop.
Now, let us go into those scriptures that women and unlearned men use to try to justify women preachers and expose the fact the they do not have the knowledge and understanding of the very scriptures which they claim supports such non-biblical acts. As the Apostle Peter spoke concerning Paul's Epistles; "As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. (2 Peter 3:16). Numbers 22:27-28 is one of the scripture they always run to for justification. "And when the ass saw the angel of the Lord, she fell down under Balaam: and Balaam's anger was kindled, and he smote the ass with a staff. And the Lord opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, what have I done unto the, that thou hast smitten me these three times?" Out of pure ignorance and being unlearned, they emphasize the fact that it was a female animal, and because it spoke to Balaam they contend that, that gives them the right to preach. Now after the dust settles down, it becomes evident that they over looked what kind of voice came out of the dumb ass. Read, 2nd. Peter 2:15-16, "Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Boser, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; But was rebuked for his iniquity; the dumb ass speaking with MAN'S VOICE forbad the madness of the prophet." As the scripture states, the dumb ass spoke with man's voice and there is no way that they can go to Numbers to justify themselves as women preachers.
Another scripture the women preachers run to is the one that speaks of Deborah and because she judged Israel. But, the Bible did not say she preached. Deborah was a prophetess and the unlearned try to tie that in with Joel 2:28, " and it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions." Not realizing the power of God nor understanding the scripture they think prophesying is preaching, which is not true. Prophesying is the foretelling of an event that is going to happen in the future. It is given to women to prophesy, but not to preach.
Galatians 3:28 is another scripture the women preachers and the unlearned men who support them like to lie on. "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus." From this scripture they tell the blind that God will use a woman just like He will use a man; the bible does not make any such statement and Galatians 3:28 tells us that God has no respect for persons regarding salvation. Acts 10:34-35 also confirms this and again Galatians 3:26 says, "For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. None of these scriptures have anything to do with ignorant women trying to preach the gospel of our Lord. They jump up and go to St. Mark 16:9-10, "Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven devils. And she went and told them that she had been with Him, as they mourned and wept." Satan and his women preachers love to lie on this scripture by saying that Mary preached the first message. They love to tell this lie and refuse to accept the fact that the bible dose not say that she preached the first anything.
So-called women preachers wear out the grass going to Philippians 4:3 "And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers whose names are in the book of life. They love to tell everybody that Paul had women helping him preach the gospel and that is not true. No where in the bible do you read of women helping Paul preach.
My dear reader please be aware that there are No Women Apostles, No Women Bishops, No Women Elders, No Women Pastors, No Women Evangelists and No Women Deaconesses in the bible. Any church that have women preachers or believe in women preachers don't believe in the bible and is not the church which was establish 2,000 years ago on the day of Pentecost. I say unto you, let them alone and have no part of that evil doctrine.

Deborah was a prophetess and the unlearned try to tie that in with Joel 2:28, " and it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions." Not realizing the power of God nor understanding the scripture they think prophesying is preaching, which is not true. Prophesying is the foretelling of an event that is going to happen in the future. It is given to women to prophesy, but not to preach.
Galatians 3:28 is another scripture the women preachers and the unlearned men who support them like to lie on. "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus." From this scripture they tell the blind that God will use a woman just like He will use a man; the bible does not make any such statement and Galatians 3:28 tells us that God has no respect for persons regarding salvation. Acts 10:34-35 also confirms this and again Galatians 3:26 says, "For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. None of these scriptures have anything to do with ignorant women trying to preach the gospel of our Lord. They jump up and go to St. Mark 16:9-10, "Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven devils. And she went and told them that had been with Him, as they mourned and wept." Satan and his women preachers love to lie on this scripture by saying that Mary preached the first message. They love to tell this lie and refuse to accept the fact that the bible dose not say that she preached the first anything.
So-called women preachers wear out the grass going to Philippians 4:3 "And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers whose names are in the book of life. They love to tell everybody that Paul had women helping him preach the gospel and that is not true. No where in the bible do you read of women helping Paul preach.
My dear reader please be aware that there are no Women Apostles, no Women Bishops, no Women Elders, no Women Pastors, no Women Evangelists and no Women Deaconesses in the bible. Any church that have women preachers or believe in women preachers don't believe in the bible and is not the church which was establish 2,000 years ago on the day of Pentecost. I say unto you, let them alone and have no part of that evil doctrine.

The Pro-Homosexual Gospel According to Obama
Clinton and Obama agree on the “change” they wish to bring to our nation--ushering in homosexual marriage and adoptions. The “change” Obama promises is more than his liberal social programs--he wants to change the teachings of Jesus and the Bible.
It is refreshing that both parties are more openly discussing faith, and even Christianity, in this election cycle. Hopefully, people of faith will make informed decisions on who will lead our nation. Obama told a crowd last week that he believes the Sermon on the Mount justifies his support for legal recognition of homosexual unions. He also told the crowd that his position in favor of legalized abortion does not make him "less Christian.” He went on to say, "If people find that controversial then I would just refer them to the Sermon on the Mount, which I think is, in my mind, for my faith, more central than an un-obscure passage in Romans."
It is hardly proper to speak of the Sermon on the Mount as a digest of the teaching of Jesus, for it does not include any reference to some very important subjects discussed by our Lord on other occasions in the course of His ministry. Every scripture is the inspired Word of God and should be treated as such, not thrown about to justify personal preferences.
As reported by Cybercast News Service, Obama published on his Web site an "open letter concerning LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) equality in America." In that letter, Obama said he favored same-sex unions that were equal to marriage--including adoption rights--and that he was open to states codifying same-sex marriages.

Ironically, Obama’s distortions of the Bible’s teachings come as he fends off suspicion of his loyalty to Islam. Clinton is charged with leaking Muslim dressed pictures of Obama and she left open whether he is a Christian or a Muslim in a recent interview. Yet, homosexual marriage and adoptions pushed by both are not acceptable in Christianity or Islam.
Children Under Attack
California has long been cited as a microcosm of what the liberal establishment in America desires of all of America, but two bills which have recently made their ways to the governor’s desk clearly define an agenda that is anti-children.
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger recently signed bill SB 777 which adds "sexual orientation" to the state anti-discrimination statutes. The legislation contains a clause that states transgender students must be allowed to use restrooms of their chosen gender. (Don’t be surprised if every eighth grade boy feels that he must be transgender at least once during his school career!) The bill also includes Islam and agnostic when defining religious instruction.
After receiving thousands of e-mails and letters from Californians protesting the bill that would have seriously infringed upon students' religious freedoms, the governor vetoed the second bill, SB 1437, which had been approved by the legislature. It would have prevented any school teaching materials or activities that could be construed to reflect adversely upon homosexuals, bisexuals or transgenders.
"First, California law allowed public schools to voluntarily promote homosexuality, bisexuality and transsexuality. Then, the law required public schools to accept homosexual, bisexual and transsexual teachers as role models for impressionable children. Now, the law has been changed to effectively require the positive portrayal of homosexuality, bisexuality and transsexuality to 6 million children in California government-controlled schools," said Randy Thomasson, chief of the Campaign for Children and Families and a leader in the movement to withdraw what supporters pray will be up to 600,000 children from public districts in the state.
Christians must understand that this is not just a California problem but a threat to all Christians in America. We must stand together in our fight, not only in California but throughout the entire country, on behalf of the children, the family and religious freedoms for all people.
California Outlaws Home Schooling
On February 28, 2008, three judges from the California Court of Appeals handed down a very controversial decision regarding a case involving a home school family. Their opinion holds that home schooling is not a legal option in California.
Vision America Action agrees with the Home School Legal Defense Association who believes that the best course of action is to petition the California Supreme Court to “depublish” the opinion--which means that it can only be applied to the specific family which the court ruling addressed and not applied to other home schooling families in California.

Ministry Update
This has been an incredible week of travel and networking as we have been working to address the serious challenges that the pro-life and pro-family movement is now facing. I believe we are in the most dangerous period of my lifetime, and one which necessitates men and women of faith seek God's direction and wisdom to address.
Last Thursday, I traveled to New Orleans and Nashville where I met with dozens of pastors and concerned leaders of our movement to discuss where we go from here. There were numerous suggestions about a third party effort and several leaders were indicating they cannot support any of the remaining three major candidates for president.
As I listened I was saddened to see the confusion now reigning throughout the pro-life and pro-family movement, and though I do not claim to know everything there is to know, this one thing I am absolutely certain of--God is not the author of confusion.
We are where we are because of the failure of the conservative, religious, political leaders to lead. We were all over the spectrum--with Pat Robertson endorsing Rudy Guiliani while other equally visible leaders were endorsing Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson, Mike Huckabee or Duncan Hunter--and on and on it went. Our camp was divided and out of the morass arose John McCain--who in 2000 called Jerry Falwell an agent of intolerance, making no secret of his disdain for the Religious Right--on the Republican side and Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama on the Democratic side.
Adding insult to injury, like his Democrat counterparts, McCain has endorsed embryonic stem cell research despite the fact that former frozen embryos are walking and talking across America today and to date not one shred of evidence has been brought forward to validate that embryos can produce cures that adult stem cell lines cannot provide. From the perspective of Christian conservatives, all three remaining major contenders for the highest office in the land are flawed.
So what are the very leaders now saying? They are still all over the map--saying stay home, vote third party, etc.
My message from now till the election will be--we have a two party system in America for better or worse. Voting third party in my estimation is a waste of your vote, and we must never forget, every vote is two votes. You are voting for someone and you are not voting for someone else. That means that when you vote for someone you know cannot possibly win, you are adding strength to someone who will win and you may be withholding a vote for someone who could have won.
Politics is not church. In church we search for doctrinal purity as best we understand it, but in politics compromise is often the reasonable solution short of war or division. It is better to get 80 percent of what you desire than to get zero percent--which is what you get when you don't participate or you participate ignorantly.
I cannot tell you how to vote, but I urge you to vote. I urge you to be mindful that this is still a two party system and you and I must vote for the candidates and the party that best represent our values. The time to discuss the pros and cons of a third party effort is on November 5th, right after the election, when there is time to actually make a difference. I pledge to be at that meeting if it’s called, as it appears that both major parties no longer see conservative Christian as an asset--beyond getting their vote.
Do not lose sight of the goals which got us into this arena to start with: to end abortions in America in our lifetime; preserve marriage as the Bible defines it; preserve freedom by saving America as a sovereign and free nation; and increase the Kingdom of God on earth by being lights that shine in the midst of a crooked generation.
I am traveling every day to make that message known. Later today, I will be speaking in Denver, Colorado. Am I happy with the current field of candidates? Absolutely not! But am I going to sit home and sulk? Absolutely not! Beyond the presidency there are U.S. Senate seats, U.S. House seats, state elections and judges to consider, and when the church stays home or acts foolishly everyone loses.

Soldier Earns Silver Star in Afghanistan
Associated Press | March 10, 2008  CAMP SALERNO, Afghanistan - A 19-year-old Army medic from Texas is set to become the first woman in Afghanistan -- and only the second female Soldier since World War II -- to receive the Silver Star, the nation's third-highest medal for valor.
Army SPC Monica Lin Brown saved the lives of fellow Soldiers after a roadside bomb tore through a convoy of Humvees in the eastern Paktia province in April 2007, the military said.
After the explosion, which wounded five Soldiers in her unit, Brown ran through enemy gunfire and used her body to shield wounded comrades as mortars fell less than 100 yards away, the military said.
"I did not really think about anything except for getting the guys to a safer location and getting them taken care of and getting them out of there," Brown told The Associated Press during a March 8 interview at a U.S. base in the eastern province of Khost.
Brown, of Lake Jackson, Texas, is scheduled to receive the Silver Star later this month. She was part of a four-vehicle convoy patrolling near Jani Kheil in the eastern province of Paktia on April 25, 2007, when a bomb struck one of the Humvees.
"We stopped the convoy. I opened up my door and grabbed my aid bag," Brown said.
She started running toward the burning vehicle as insurgents opened fire. All five wounded Soldiers had scrambled out.
"I assessed the patients to see how bad they were. We tried to move them to a safer location because we were still receiving incoming fire," Brown said.
Pentagon policy prohibits women from serving in front-line combat roles - in the infantry, armor or artillery, for example. But the nature of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, with no real front lines, has seen women Soldiers take part in close-quarters combat more than previous conflicts.
SGT Leigh Ann Hester, of Nashville, Tenn., received the Silver Star in 2005 for gallantry during an insurgent ambush on a convoy in Iraq. Two men from her unit, the 617th Military Police Company of Richmond, Ky., also received the Silver Star for their roles in the same action.
Four Army nurses in World War II were the first women to receive the Silver Star, though three nurses serving in World War I were awarded the medal posthumously last year, according to the Army's Web site.
Brown, of the 4th Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, said ammunition going off inside the burning Humvee was sending shrapnel in all directions. She said they were sitting in a dangerous spot.
"So we dragged them for 100 or 200 meters, got them away from the Humvee a little bit," she said. "I was in a kind of a robot-mode, did not think about much but getting the guys taken care of."
For Brown, who knew all five wounded Soldiers, it became a race to get them all to a safer location. Eventually, they moved the wounded some 500 yards away and treated them on site before putting them on a helicopter for evacuation.
"I did not really have time to be scared," Brown said. "Running back to the vehicle, I was nervous (since) I did not know how badly the guys were injured. That was scary."
The military said Brown's "bravery, unselfish actions and medical aid rendered under fire saved the lives of her comrades and represents the finest traditions of heroism in combat."

Dark Chocolate May Sweeten the Way to Health
Daily dose lowered blood pressure, improved insulin sensitivity, study showed

MONDAY, July 18 (HealthDay News) -- If it tastes good it must be bad, so the saying goes, but delicious dark chocolate may be the exception to the rule.
In addition to all the pleasurable sensations associated with the sweet, it may also help lower blood pressure by an average of 10 percent while improving the body's sensitivity to insulin, researchers report.
However, this benefit applies only to dark chocolate, which is rich in flavonoids -- the same antioxidant compounds found in fruits, vegetables and whole grains that are known to help lower blood pressure, according to the report in the July 18 online edition of Hypertension.
"It turns out that chocolate is not only a pleasurable food, but it fits in quite nicely with the other healthy recommendations," said coauthor Jeffrey B. Blumberg, a professor of nutrition and a senior scientist at the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University. "We found that three ounces of dark chocolate per day over several weeks reduced blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension and also seemed to provide a benefit on their insulin sensitivity," he added.
In their study, Blumberg's team had 10 men and 10 women eat 3.5 ounces of dark chocolate every day for 15 days. All of these people had high blood pressure and none were taking blood pressure medications.
First, the researchers had five of the men and five of the women eat dark chocolate while the others ate white chocolate, which contains no flavonoids. Then after another week of no chocolate, the groups "crossed over" and ate the other chocolate.
In the 15 days they were eating dark chocolate, individuals displayed an average 11.9 mm Hg drop in their systolic blood pressure (the top number in a blood pressure reading) and a 8.5 mm Hg drop in diastolic blood pressure (the lower number). However, there was no drop in blood pressure when they ate flavonoid-free white chocolate, the researchers found.
Given these results, Blumberg believes that dark chocolate can be good for you. "Dark chocolate can be included as part of a healthful diet in patients who have hypertension," he said.
However, he cautioned that you can't just add it on top of your diet. "It's still a high-calorie food. You don't want to have excess calories or put on weight if you have hypertension," Blumberg said. "But as part of a healthful diet, it is something that you can enjoy and not feel you are violating the principles of a healthful diet."
Blumberg thinks that being able to enjoy some chocolate can also make it easier to stay on a healthy diet that is rich in fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
One expert sees this study as part of a body of evidence that shows that chocolate is good for us. "Dark chocolate may be health-promoting," said Dr. David L. Katz, an associate clinical professor of public health and director of the Prevention Research Center at Yale University School of Medicine.
Katz, who is doing his own research into the benefits of chocolate, noted that chocolate is rich in not only antioxidants, but also magnesium and fiber. "The predominant saturated fat in dark chocolate, stearic acid, does not raise cholesterol or harm blood vessels," he added.
"Milk chocolate and white chocolate do not offer any known health benefits, and provide more calories, sugar, and potentially harmful oils than dark chocolate," Katz said, but "dark chocolate may well prove to be health food."
According to Katz, there are many unanswered questions about chocolate: What is the optimal dose of dark chocolate? How high does the cocoa content need to be to offer health benefits? Who in the population stands to benefit from eating dark chocolate? Are the benefits of liquid cocoa and solid chocolate the same? Can people eat chocolate without gaining weight?
"These answers, and others, will come in time," Katz said. "For now, it's clear that not all chocolate is created equal. But it's delicious to think that indulgence and health may both reside beneath the same wrapper."
Another expert is more cautious. Without more definitive data on whether chocolate promotes weight gain that might outweigh its benefits, Dr. Jeffrey Mechanick, the director of the Metabolic Support Service at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, is hesitant to recommend it as a health food. "I would never tell a heart patient or a diabetic to eat more dark chocolate," he said.
For patients who do not have these health problems, Mechanick is more lenient. "Having a treat every once in a while is fine," he said. "My preference is that you have dark chocolate, because it's looking like maybe dark chocolate may have some benefit. But there are no data to support that it's truly beneficial. It's still unproven that it's beneficial and there could be risks involved."
Mechanick also warned that the data about the benefits of dark chocolate should not mean replacing other high blood pressure therapy with chocolate. "Chocolate is not an alternative to traditional lifestyle changes or to taking medications to reduce risk of heart disease or to treat diabetes," he said.

And if you didn't want to splurge, you could spend your nickel on enough stamps to mail 1 letter and 2 postcards.
You could buy a new Chevy Coupe for $600 . . . But who could afford one?
Too bad, because gas was 11 cents a gallon.
In my day:

' "pot" was something your mother cooked in and
' "rock music" was your grandmother's lullaby.
' "Aids" were helpers in the Principal's office,
' " chip" meant a piece of wood,

Christmas is not santa claus, not Rudolph, not replacing the beautiful Christmas Carols with senseless tunes that have taken their place. How sad Jesus must be to hear.. Christmas is not for seeing how far we can go into debt trying to please loved ones, and certainly not for putting so much stress on ourselves, we break down, try suicide, or hate the thought of Christmas! How must Jesus feel to know His birthday has taken on a commercial race that causes Christmas to be the most dreaded time of the year for many.
If each of us do our part on insisting there is no other reason for Christmas, than the birth of our Savior, maybe some schools and stores will see the truth about Christmas and stop worrying about what the ACLU says about it. Perhaps it may pave the way for bringing GOD back to power in America . !

Christmas Tree Traditions
The decorated Christmas tree can be traced back to the ancient Romans who during their winter festival decorated trees with small pieces of metal during Saturnalia, a winter festival in honor of Saturnus, the god of agriculture.
An evergreen, the Paradise tree, was decorated with apples as a symbol of the feast of Adam and Eve held on December 24th during the middle ages.
Christmas trees were sold in Alsace in 1531. Alsace was at that time a part of Germany. Today it is part of France. The trees were sold at local markets and set up in homes undecorated.
In the Ammerschweier in Alsace there was an ordinance that stated no person "shall have for Christmas more than one bush of more than eight shoe lengths."
Sixteenth century folklore credited Martin Luther as being the first to decorate an indoor tree. After a walk through a forest of evergreens with shining stars overhead, Luther tried to describe the experience to his family and showed them by bringing a tree into their home and decorating it with candles. Some historians state that the first evidence of a lighted tree appeared more than a century after Martin Luther's death in 1546.
The oldest record of a decorated Christmas tree came from a 1605 diary found in Strasburg, France (Germany in 1605). The tree was decorated with paper roses, apples and candies.
In Austria & Germany during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, the tops of evergreens were cut and hung upside down in a living room corner. They were decorated with apples, nuts and strips of red paper.
The first record of Christmas trees in America was for children in the German Moravian Church's settlement in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Christmas 1747. Actual trees were not decorated, but wooden pyramids covered with evergreen branches were decorated with candles.
The custom of the Christmas tree was introduced in the United States during the War of Independence by Hessian troops. An early account tells of a Christmas tree set up by American soldiers at Fort Dearborn, Illinois, the site of Chicago, in 1804. Most other early accounts in the United States were among the German settlers in eastern Pennsylvania.
In 1834, Queen Victoria's husband, Prince Albert, was credited with bringing the first Christmas tree to Windsor Castle for the Royal Family. Some historians state that in actuality Queen Charlotte, Victoria's grandmother, recalled that a Christmas tree was in the Queen's lodge at Windsor on Christmas Day in 1800.
Charles Minnegrode introduced the custom of decorating trees in Williamsburg, Virginia in 1842.
By 1850, the Christmas tree had become fashionable in the eastern states. Until this time, it had been considered a quaint foreign custom.
Mark Carr brought trees from the Catskills to the streets of New York in 1851, and opened the first retail Christmas tree lot in the United States.
Franklin Pierce was the first president to introduce the Christmas tree to the White House in 1856 for a group of Washington Sunday School children. I'm on a "Merry Christmas" mission and I'm in full throttle. My little
yellow VW Beetle has turned into a Christmas billboard with Merry
Christmas written across the back window. Yes, I've decided to trek off to work
everyday on the public highways with a message that seems to offend
people.
At stop lights, I even turn my music up a little louder, and to top it
off, I sing along with it. Don't I know that stopping at a red light to roll
my windows down only to share the joy of Christmas carols on public streets
is a No-No? Don't I fear the Christmas Gestapo and those who would have me remove the written message from my car?
I'm sorry folks, but the only person I'm concerned about "offending"
during this Christmas season is the Lord himself. LEAVE THAT MANGER ALONE!
We've allowed the Baby Jesus to be kicked out of His lowly manger, and those
offended by Christmas are still not happy.
I refuse to let this happen. I'm going to do my part to make sure "Merry
Christmas" doesn't become extinct. Because like it or not, if the
believers in Christmas don't take a stand now, it's gone forever.
Listen folks, the Christian community has been underestimated before; we
will have to show ourselves again.
I walked into a Wendy's Restaurant the other day and was rather
exuberant with my "Merry Christmas" greeting to the manager. He didn't have much of a response and I said, "Where's your Christmas spirit?" He said, "We're not allowed to use the words "Merry Christmas" when greeting customers. We can only say "Happy Holiday (What holiday?)."
This morning I grabbed a quick breakfast at a Whataburger Restaurant. I
noticed there wasn't a single decoration in the store. I asked the
manager why they weren't decorated for Christmas. He told me the corporate
headquarters decided not to send any decorations to any of their stores,
and he didn't know why.
After I heard about all the Macy's and Federated Stores taking down
their Merry Christmas signs, the Target stores not allowing the Salvation Army to "Ring the Christmas bells," and the many incidents of children, choirs and bands not allowed to play or sing Christmas carols, I realized it was
happening right here in my own little Tex as town.
How can this be? Not Tex as!
We do, however, have a store, Hobby Lobby, that plays nothing but
Christmas carols during the season. On Christmas Day they run a full page ad in our local newspaper. That ad is not to promote the store, but uses the
entire page to tell the story of Jesus' birth. Now that's taking a stand. We need to thank them.
When I saw a news report the other evening of children being taught new
words to a song we've sung for years - "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" -
I was saddened to hear "We Wish You a Splendid Holiday."
I know now that it's just a matter of time that the "Merry Christmas"
greetings will be gone. Look around your town. Notice the "Holiday"
greetings and not "Christmas." It's happening right before our very
eyes.
Start singing the songs; go down the streets of America singing to your
heart's content. Get some of those wash-off markers that these kids use
to write on their car windows when they're rooting for their hometown
football team. It's easy to do, and if a torrential rain washes it off, write it
on there again.
We've got to get this message out. "Go Tell It On the Mountain . . .
that Jesus Christ is Born." Sing it, speak it, be a billboard for our Lord.
The story of this "Baby Jesus" alone has brought about more goodwill at
this time of year than any other day we celebrate. How can we sit back and
allow Him to be snuffed out of our lives?
Is it Jesus, or is it His followers that the "offended" don't like? What
kind of revulsion galvanizes one to campaign so vehemently against the
mere mention of His name, the mere singing of a carol, or the mere visual of
a sign that says "Merry Christmas?"
I can listen to my own boss at work use some of the vilest words and
follow up with, "Excuse my French." I may cringe inside at his damning of GOD's
name, but I tolerate it. So if you don't like me wishing you a "Merry
Christmas," I'll say, "Excuse my joy." You may cringe that I celebrate
the birth of Jesus, but just tolerate it.
I cannot be concerned that "Merry Christmas" offends you. If I'm not
careful, the day will come when saying I'm a Christian will offend you.
I'm offended that you're offended.
How about that?
When we get to a point that we can no longer take part in an AMERICAN tradition we hold dear, we have no choice; we either defend that tradition or we give it up to those who say NO. That's it . . . period. So, which will it be?
I'm not giving up my "Merry Christmas" joy to anyone. If I know of
someone that celebrates another holiday during this time of year, I will be glad
to wish them whatever holiday they want. Just tell me what it is and I'll
shout it to the world and wish you a grand celebration.
Just give me Christmas. To you merchants: Stop being so hypocritical and
"filling your tills" on the back of Jesus! Who do you think is the symbol of giving at this time of year? It was the wise men bringing gifts to the newborn Christ-child.
You want your coffers full, but have ordered your employees to take down
all the Merry Christmas signs. If that's the case, I'll buy gifts at a place
that understands my joy.
If you're worried about offending someone, you just did. The most recent
Newsweek survey shows that 82% of Americans believe that Jesus is the
Son of GOD. So, in trying not to offend a few, you've offended many.
It's okay to jump into the "Merry Christmas" spirit when it fills your
cash register, but let's call it something else . . . and don't stop giving.
. . and don't stop buying. . . we'll just change the name and you'll never
know the difference.
I know the difference and I'm feeling it greatly. It's hard not to be
aware that townships across our country have actually banned the singing of Christmas carols because it might offend someone. And it's not just the
religious songs; it's the secular ones too. No more "Jingle Bells" or
"Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer" because they're associated with
Christmas.
Boy, aren't we getting sensitive?
If we're not celebrating Christmas for the hope it gives with the birth
of our Savior . . . there is no hope!
I noticed a few years ago that we changed the name of Abraham Lincoln's
and George Washington's birthday so as to be all inclusive regarding the
Presidents. Hark, if we should recognize anyone as exceptional. Now it's
called Presidents' Day.
Well, if we're going to be so all inclusive, next month I'll have to
refer to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as Civil Rights Leaders' Day. We
don't want to exclude great Americans like Rosa Parks or Cesar Chavez, do we?
And to think that Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton might be left out.
We might need to change Mother's Day, Father's Day, and Grandparents'
Day to All Parents' Day. Just lump them all together.
It sounds ridiculous, doesn't it? So what's the difference?
My freedom to celebrate Christmas in the tradition of the Christian
religion is as much my right as it is your right to be offended by it. So what
are we going to do? Did anyone hear me . . . what are we going to do?
Do we defend a person's right to go forward with a time tested tradition
(how about 2000 years?), or do we defend a person's right to end it all
because they're offended? As long as we live in this great land and have
the freedom to express ourselves and what we believe in, we will always
offend someone.
If we try to make everything right for everyone, we won't have anything
for anyone.
May you always have Christmas in your heart!

Those of you who might not know, the man on the left is the Commandant of the Marine Corps, and he is proud to know the man on the right.
Maybe you'd like to hear about a real American, somebody who honored the uniform he wears
Meet Brian Chontosh
Churchville-Chili Central School Class of 1991.
Proud graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Husband and about-to-be father. First lieutenant (now Captain) in the United States Marine Corps.
And a genuine hero, the secretary of the Navy said so yesterday.
At 29 Palms in California Brian Chontosh was presented with the Navy Cross, the second highest award for combat bravery the United States can bestow.
That's a big deal. But you won't see it on the network news tonight
And all you'll read in Brian's hometown newspaper is two paragraphs of nothing.
The odd fact about the American media in this war is that it's not covering the American military. The most plugged-in nation in the world is receiving virtually no true information about what its warriors are doing.
Oh, sure, there's a body count. We know how many Americans have fallen. And we see those same casket pictures day in and day out.
And we're almost on a first-name basis with the jerks who abused the Iraqi prisoners. And we know all about improvised explosive devices and how we lost Fallujah and what Arab public-opinion polls say about us and how the world hates us.
We get a non-stop feed of gloom and doom.
But we don't hear about the heroes.
The incredibly brave GIs who honorably do their duty. The ones our grandparents would have carried on their shoulders down Fifth Avenue.
The ones we completely ignore, like Brian Chontosh.
It was a year ago on the march into Baghdad. Brian Chontosh was a platoon leader rolling up Highway 1 in a humvee.
When all hell broke loose.
Ambush city.
The young Marines were being cut to ribbons. Mortars, machine guns, rocket propelled grenades.
And the kid out of Churchville was in charge. It was do or die and it was up to him.
So he moved to the side of his column, looking for a way to lead his men to safety. As he tried to poke a hole through the Iraqi line his humvee came under direct enemy machine gun fire. It was fish in a barrel and the Marines were the fish. And Brian Chontosh gave the order to attack.
He told his driver to floor the humvee directly at the machine gun emplacement that was firing at them. And he had the guy on top with the 50 cal unload on them.
Within moments there were Iraqis slumped across the machine gun and Chontosh was still advancing, ordering his driver now to take the humvee directly into the Iraqi trench that was attacking his Marines.
Over into the battlement the humvee went and out the door Brian Chontosh bailed, carrying an M16
and a Beretta
and 228 years of Marine Corps pride.
And he ran along the trench, with its mortars and riflemen, machineguns and grenadiers. And he killed them all.
He fought with the M16 until it was out of ammo.
Then he fought with the Beretta until it was out of ammo. Then he picked up a dead man's AK4 and fought with that until it was out of ammo.
Then he picked up another dead man's AK47 and fought with that until it was out of ammo.
At one point he even fired a discarded Iraqi RPG into an enemy cluster, sending attackers flying with its grenade explosion.
When he was done Brian Chontosh had cleared 200 yards of entrenched Iraqis from his platoon's flank. He had killed more than 20 and wounded at least as many more.
But that's probably not how he would tell it. He would probably merely say that his Marines were in trouble, and he got them out of trouble. Ooh-rah, and drive on.
"By his outstanding display of decisive leadership, unlimited courage in the face of heavy enemy fire, and utmost devotion to duty, 1st Lt. Chontosh reflected great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and the United States Naval Service."
That's what the citation says.
And that's what nobody will hear.
That's what doesn't seem to be making the evening news.
Accounts of American valor are dismissed by the press as propaganda, yet accounts of American difficulties are heralded as objectivity. It makes you wonder if the role of the media is to inform or to depress - to report or to deride. To tell the truth, or to feed us lies.
But I guess it doesn't matter. We're going to turn out all right As long as men like Brian Chontosh wear our uniform.
If you are as proud of this Marine as I am, then TELL this to EVERYONE YOU KNOW !

Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night
in the home of a wealthy family.
The family was rude and refused to let the angels
stay in the mansion's guest room.
Instead the angels were given a small space in
the cold basement.
As they made their bed on the hard floor, the
older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it.
When the younger angel asked why, the older angel
replied,
"Things aren't always what they seem."
The next night the pair came to rest at the house
of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his
wife.
After sharing what little food they had the couple
let the angels sleep in their bed where they could
have a good night's rest.
When the sun came up the next morning the angels
found the farmer and his wife in tears.
Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole
income, lay dead in the field.
The younger angel was infuriated and asked the
older angel how could you have let this happen?
The first man had everything, yet you helped him,
he accused.
The second family had little but was willing to
share everything, and you let the cow die.
"Things aren't always what they seem," the older
angel replied.
"When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I
noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the
wall.
Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and
unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the
wall so he wouldn't find it."
"Then last night as we slept in the farmers bed,
the angel of death came for his wife. I gave him
the cow instead.
Things aren't always what they seem."
Sometimes that is exactly what happens when things
don't turn out the way they should. If you have
faith, you just need to trust that every out come
is always to your advantage. You just might not
know it until some time later...

This one is done different from any of the other I have seen. It is neat.
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God

If Scripture now the class recites,

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.
We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong.
We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!

We Can't Blame White People

They're standing on the corner and they can't speak English. I can't even talk the way these people talk: 'Why you ain't, ' Where you is'...
And I blamed the kid until I heard the mother talk. And then I heard the father talk. Everybody knows it's important to speak English except these knuckleheads.
You can't be a doctor with that kind of crap coming out of your mouth. People marched and were hit in the face with rocks to get an education, and now we've got these knuckleheads talking around. The lower economic people are not holding up their end in this deal.
These people are not parenting. They are buying things for kids. $500 sneakers for what? And they won't spend $200 for Hooked on Phonics. I am talking about these people who cry when their son is standing there in an orange suit. Where were you when he was 2? Where were you when he was 12? Where were you when he was 18 and how come you didn't know that he had a pistol? And where is the father?
People putting their clothes on backward: Isn't that a sign of something gone wrong? People with their hats on backward, pants down around the crack, isn't that a sign of something? Or are you waiting for Jesus to pull his pants up?
Isn't it a sign of something when she has her dress all the way up... and got all type of needles [piercing] going through her body? What part ofAfrica did this come from?
We are not Africans. Those people are not Africans; they don't know a thing about Africa. With names like Shaniqua, Taliqua and Mohammed and all of that crap, and all of them are in jail. Brown or black versus the Board of Education is no longer the white person's problem. We have got to take the neighborhood back.
People used to be ashamed... [Today] a woman has eight children with eight different 'husbands' -- or men or whatever you call them now.
We have millionaire football players who cannot read. We have million-dollar basketball players who can't write two paragraphs. We as black folks have to do a better job. Someone working at Wal-Mart with seven kids, you're hurting us. We have to start holding each other to a higher standard.
We cannot blame the white people any longer.

She was in a serious car accident back in May 2003
Gloria, her youngest son (Lyman), and her sister (Glenda) were all in the accident. Lyman was hospitalized from May 22 until Sept. 30th, 2003. We all were wearing our seatbelts, the seatbelt cut Lyman's colon se he had to have emergency surgery on it, he broke his left leg and and arm, a metal rod was put in his leg, pins in his left arm but they were removed, while they were in doing the surgery on his leg and arm his lungs colasped and his kidneys stopped functioning, he was in an induced coma for 6 weeks, to help with the pain he may have had,
He was on life support for 6 weeks and dyalisis for 8 weeks, he had to learn to sit again and to walk again.
He went thru weeks of rehab @ Scottish Rite in Atlanta. He is doing great now, but he will have to take medication for his kidneys the rest of his life.
Glenda who is mentally chalenged and Gloria takes care of her, broke her right shoulder, dislocated her right hip and ruptured her colon, she had to have colon surgery as well, she stayed in the hospital for a month then went to rehab cause she had to strengthen her leg and hip. She is fully recovered and is doing well.
Gloria was the driver, she was instantly knocked uncountious, so she dosen't remember any of the accident. She broke her jaw in 12 places, she was missing part of her jaw bone so they had to put a metal plate in until the bone grew back, she had a trac for 9 days, was in an induced coma for 9 days, she was on a feeding tube for 3 months, she lost 6 of her teeth, disfigured her gum on the left side, she had nerve and tissue damage on the left side, it crushed her cheek bone, they had to reconstruct it with metal plates, from the eye to the lower left jaw bone, she has underwent 3 other surgeries and will need 3 or 4 more. They are gonna have to do some boe, tissue and nerve graghing to her left lower facial area so they can put some permenent teeth in, she will need cosmetic surgery on her lips, they are going to have to rebreak her nose and line it.
Her and her family have struggled thru this situation and haven't asked for anyone's help/but they are in a situation now, where they have no choice but to ask, the girl that hit Gloria didn't have enough auto insurance to cover all the medical expences, so please have a heart and help them out.
